Exceeding Maximum Occupancy is not allowed in any of our rooms. If the size of your party changes at any time before your reservation, please notify us as soon as possible. Please include children in your count of guests. If guests do NOT declare extra occupants and are observed exceeding maximum occupancy, we reserve the right to ask guest to move to an appropriate size room for party (if one is available). We also reserve the right to evict a guest at any time, from our property, if there is refusal to adhere to our maximum occupancy policy. No refunds will be given if evicted from our property.
On Site Management:
Murphey's Motel does NOT have a 24 hour office. Office hours vary depending on season. Management, however, does reside on the property and is available in the event of an emergency after hours. All guests are provided emergency contact information upon check in.

(New Policies - Due to COVID-19
Due to new county requirements, room servicing has had some changes. To ensure guest and staff health, our cleaning staff may not service a room if a guest is present. Guests who wish for servicing during their stay are asked to use our door tags to request it or contact our front desk or lobby personnel. Guests must understand once a staff member has begun to clean their room, they may not reenter until cleaning staff has vacated the room. Also, all guests may request replenishment amenities be dropped at their door to encourage social distancing.
Non Smoking Rooms:
All of our motel rooms, ice/drinks room, and lobby are NON smoking. If any evidence of smoking is found in our rooms, we reserve the right to charge up to a $300.00 fine with the credit card provided during the reservation process. This includes cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, and vape pens. Smoking in doorways of rooms or by windows is not permitted. We do however have a common area outside available for guests who wish to smoke during their stay. More information regarding the common area can be provided by any staff member upon check in.
Pet Policy Update - New as of January 1st, 2020
Starting January 1st, 2020, Murphey's Motel no longer allows any pets on our property. Any reservations made via online booking, phone, or email that arrive and declare a pet after January 1st, 2020, will have their reservation cancelled immediately. No exceptions will be made for guests who arrive with a pet. Unfortunately we have declared our new "NO PET POLICY" for almost a year now online, onsite, and with AAA guidebooks. Any guests with a pet discovered on our property, starting January 1st, 2020, will be charged a $100 fine and will be asked to leave immediately without any room refunds.

We require 24 hours notice to cancel a reservation without any fees or charges. If we are NOT provided 24 hours notice, guests will be charged the full rate of the room + tax for the 1st day of the reservation. The remainder of the reservation will be cancelled free of charge. All cancellations may be done through our online booking, email, or by phone.
Check In Policy:
(New Policies Due to COVID-19)
Due to COVID-19, we have made some changes to our check in policy.
Our new Check in Time for guests is now 4:00 pm. This change is due to new cleaning procedures required by Mono County. To ensure the cleanliness and required new sanitation standards for our guests, we have moved our check in time to 4:00 pm.
All guests must provide a picture ID and valid credit card at check in. AAA member's are required to show AAA membership card at check in to receive promo/discount offer. Discount will not be applied if membership card is not present and their will be no discount adjustments after check in. Guests MUST check in by 8:00pm to register and collect the keys to their room. If guests expect a late arrival (anytime after 8:00pm), office staff must be notified by phone or email so arrangements can be made on how to collect their keys for the evening. All guests who have not arrived by 8:00pm will be charged for the room with the credit card provided during the reservation process, unless staff has been notified of a different form of payment.
